Personal Description:

I am an experienced English scholar who is pursuing a career in academia. I have just completed my MSc at the University of Edinburgh in English, having received a first-class undergraduate degree in English Studies from Trinity College Dublin. I also work part-time at an independent bookstore and love to read and watch films in my spare time. I am also passionate about education and between my tutoring and my experience working in a school bookstore, I have stayed up to date with the Junior and Leaving Cert curriculum.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored for several years throughout my undergraduate degree in both English and Maths at Junior and Leaving Cert Level. I have also worked with Fighting Words as a mentor for Primary School children helping them to create their own stories and explore their creativity and Bridge 21 to help sixth class students create educational videos.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe it is most important that students fully understand the concepts they are learning, rather than attempting to learn off mass amounts of information. I would also focus on exam technique and learning how to tackle and approach certain questions. I also believe that is as much about helping them to feel comfortable and confident in their skills and knowledge.
