Personal Description:

Primary School teacher from Ireland. Bachelor of Education degree. CELTA Certificate. Currently studying a TEFL Level 5 Diploma. Experienced tutor to children with dyslexia, ASD, Dyscalculia and ADHD. Experience of teaching one to one and group lessons in both English and Maths.Multiple years experience working as a class teacher, special education teacher, EAL and autism class teacher.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked as a primary school teacher, covering many various roles including SET teacher, class teacher (1st, 2nd and 5th Grades) and an ASD class teacher. Experience of teaching children with ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. Experience of teaching in all curricular areas. In addition, much experience as an L2 instructor, including teaching English as a second language and Irish as a second language, for seven years. In this area, a depth of knowledge in lesson planning, differentiation, creating fun and interactive activities and assessment.
Many years experience of creating Individual Education Plans for children with behavioural and academic needs. Through this process, I have much experience of collaboration with other team members and external professionals such as teachers, school management, parents, psychologists and therapists.
Knowledge of all learning styles and differentiation to include all students in the learning process. Multiple extra curricular courses completed in the areas of literacy, numeracy and behaviour management to aid effective practice. Experience in the use of technology in whole group lessons, to aid the learning experience and of assistive technology to aid the inclusion of those with specific learning needs.

Approach to Grinds:

I like to create lessons that centre on the needs and interests of the child. These lessons are fun and active with lots of learning content presented through games and activities. I believe in creating a relaxed atmosphere where errors and mistakes are encouraged and treated as opportunities to learn, develop and grow.
