Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Cían and I am a graduate of University College Dublin where I studied European Politics and Policy. I was a SPIRe scholarship student, which was awarded based upon my previous academic achievements. Through this Scholarship, I worked with first year Undergraduate students as a Module Tutor. I am also a graduate of Trinity College Dublin where my degree was in History and Political Science. Outside of academia, I have past work experience in the European Union working as a researcher in social policy.

I am very passionate about History and in particular teaching others all about it. I am competent in all segments of the Junior/Leaving cycle and further, I can provide tips and assistance on the leaving cert history project.

I am also available as tutor to for the Politics and Society course for leaving certificate students. I provide plenty of notes and assistance, therefore, I can teach this class even if it is not offered by son/daughter's school! It is a class that is not widely offered so it is nice to have this as a backup subject!

I am based around South Dublin/ City Centre therefore can reasonably travel all over Dublin for in person grinds, but I also offer online grinds if that is more convenient.

Tutoring Experience:

Experience with teaching for both Junior and Leaving certificate students as well as teaching undergraduate students at University College Dublin. Former students I have taught have gone on to pursue History at University Level.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach centers upon engaging with the student, giving in depth analysis and bringing students in tune with what they need for their exam/essays. While my classes are filled with all the content students need, I also place significant emphasis on the skills needed to write excellent essays which should assist them not just for their history class but also for other classes and beyond if they choose to pursue University level education.
