Information About Carla - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hi there! My name is Carla and I have recently graduated with a first class honours degree in Law from University College Dublin. I am passionate about education and about the subject areas that gave me an incredible foundation for my further study. In addition to law, I am also very involved in theatre and held a performing arts scholarship from the UCD Ad Astra Academy. My love of theatre allows me to take a practical approach to interpreting literature and encompasses my broad interests.

I received H1 grades in both English and History during my Leaving Certificate. I have sustained an interest in both of those areas and the skills that I have developed as a law student are strongly applicable to those subject areas.

Tutoring Experience:

I have several years experience teaching children and young adults in the area of speech and drama. I hold a Diploma of Associate in Drama Teaching from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama. I take my experience of teaching into all of the areas that I am passionate about. I have also taught primary school students about the law through the Law in the Classroom programme in association with DEIS schools.

Approach to Grinds:

I aim to collaborate with each student in order to devise lesson plans that will target each person's individual needs. I prioritise broadening each individual's understanding of the areas studied, encourage an element of enjoyment in each area of study, and alongside the syllabus will help to prepare students for assessments.
