Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Camila and I am a Primary School teacher in my 11th year of teaching. I currently teach 2nd class. I was born in Brazil as my mother is Brazilian and therefore speak Portuguese fluently. I learned to speak English when I moved to Ireland at the age of 8. As a result, I have a great appreciation for what it takes to learn a new language and always use this knowledge to aid my teaching and therefore my students.

Tutoring Experience:

As a native Portuguese speaker, I have great experience in the learning and teaching of English as an additional language. I received a 1.1 honours result in the EAL elective in college and also completed English as my academic subject. I worked for a year in Dubai, UAE where I put my EAL teaching skills into practice in an international school.
I am also a qualified TEFL teacher and spent this summer teaching Italian teenagers in a local Institution of Technology.
I have experience tutoring a Portuguese EAL student at the request of her school and EAL adults from multiple countries.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that grinds are a great tool for any student to avail of. Whether it be a student who is finding a subject area difficult, or whether it be a student that just needs an extra bit of help. I feel that grinds are to aid the student's success back in the classroom - so that they learn to feel confident and sure of themselves in that subject area.
