Information About Aoife - Galway tutor

Personal Description:

Hi there!
My name is Aoife, I’m a final year university student in the University of Limerick on track for a 1st class honors degree.
I study German and Spanish secondary school teaching and because of this I have a deep insight into the structures of the state exams.

I have plenty experience learning languages myself and have been awarded multiple scholarships and awards for my German including:

2022: DAAD - Fortbildungskurs University of Heidelberg
2020: Deutsch Olympiade Finalist
2019: PAD Internationaler Preisträger Programm - In which I achieved one of the top 5 German Junior Certificate results in Ireland.

Alongside this, I also achieved the maximum of 625 points in my Leaving Cert in 2021.

Tutoring Experience:

Experience
• 4 years giving grinds in person and online.
• 6 months experience teaching in schools
• Examiner for mock oral examinations in 2 schools

Due to having completed a fully-immersive German language teaching course in the University of Heidelberg, Germany over the summer and studying education and language pedagogy in University I have many teaching methods which I can adapt to each of my student's individual needs.

• Student 1: 74% in mock oral. 5 classes with me. 97% in Leaving Cert Oral.

• Student 2: H5 in German in mocks. 8 classes with me. H3 in Leaving Cert.

• Student 3: H3 in Mock Oral. 5 oral classes with me. H2 in Leaving Cert, with H1 in oral.

• Students identify areas they wish to work on
• Grammar topics tackled with a focus on exam paper technique
• Oral practiced through simulation of exam with notes co-created with students to achieve their potential
