Personal Description:
Hi my name is Aoife I am a Student Teacher of Secondary School Irish and Spanish. I am available for online and face to face grinds on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Iām based between Limerick and Kilkenny so either county is preferred.
Tutoring Experience:
I have spent the last year teaching Irish and Spanish in an all boys secondary school in Kilkenny City. I have also been giving grinds in Irish and Spanish for nearly 2 years and have experience with Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle students.
Approach to Grinds:
I place a strong emphasis on the oral component of the Leaving Certificate exams in Irish and Spanish (worth 40% and 25% respectively). I believe that language is above all else a means of communication and once my students are able to communicate in the target language, that is 90% of the battle. This approach is also relevant for Junior Cycle students as an emphasis on communication boosts the confidence of students who otherwise get bogged down worrying about spelling and verbs (which are important too!)
