Personal Description:

I have four years of experience in giving grinds to students with a variety of needs and ability levels. I achieved 625 in the Leaving Certificate and I am currently a fourth year engineering student in Trinity College Dublin. I graduated from Mount Anville Secondary School in 2018 and my subjects for the Leaving Cert included maths, physics, applied maths, spanish and economics.

Tutoring Experience:

I have four years experience in giving grinds to students with a variety of needs and ability levels, particularly in maths. I have chapter overviews for each section which are available to the student and will be tailored to each students needs.
When schools shut due to covid-19 I also gained experience giving grinds online and working with and motivating students to get their online schooling completed as I know this was a difficult time for many student and parents.

Approach to Grinds:

I generally use the first grind to gauge the students ability level/ what area they are struggling with and from there, with the students input, will make a more detailed plan. Depending on students preference, I will use the grinds to do a total overview of the course including full revision of chapter (detailed notes provided) or focus on particular areas the student struggles with. I make use of notes, exam questions and several practice questions from a students text book to give them confidence in the area they are struggling with. I also give more exam focused grinds for students in exam years- including exam timings and technique, and heavily based on exam style questions.
When schools shut due to covid-19 I tailored grinds to work alongside the students online schooling, to help them manage their homework and new material when they didn't have access to their teachers for any questions or problems.
