Personal Description:
I have a BA Honours Degree in Mathematics from the National University of Ireland, Galway. It was whilst completing the ‘undergraduate ambassador scheme’ in my final year in university that I decided to pursue teaching mathematics as a career. I gained QTS in the summer of 2012, when I completed the initial teacher training program, at St Mary’s University Twickenham (PGCE). I have been teaching a full timetable of maths for the pas**Contact Detail Removed**ven years.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 11 years teaching Mathematics to all levels from 1st to 6th year. I worked in London for two years and then moved onto to an International school for five years in the UAE. I'm now working a maths teacher in a secondary school in Dublin. I have also been a tutor for the past ten years.
Approach to Grinds:
I have tutored students who are aiming for the highest grades and also those who really struggle with the subject. The most important thing to ensure that students are successful in achieving their end goal is to boost their confidence. I will discuss with each student what they wish to achieve from each session and make a plan from this. I can look at exams/homework they may be completing and give them helpful strategies on how they can improve or achieve that grade they want in an exam. I have access to many useful resources to cater to the needs of all learning abilities/styles.
