Personal Description:

I’m a qualified English and History teacher based in Athlone, offering grinds at both Junior and Leaving Certificate levels. I’m patient, supportive, and focused on helping students build their skills and confidence—whether they need help with essays, revision strategies, or understanding the curriculum in a clearer, more accessible way. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace. I also have experience correcting Junior Certificate exams, which gives me valuable insight into what examiners are looking for.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching English and History for two years across a range of school settings, including mainstream classes, SEN support, and EAL-focused environments. I hold a PME and TEFL qualification and have spent the last three years working as a Junior Certificate exam corrector.

Approach to Grinds:

My grinds are exam-focused but delivered in a relaxed and supportive way. I tailor each session to the student’s individual needs, whether they’re aiming for a higher grade, need help with basic literacy, or want to develop their exam technique. I support students in managing their study plans, tackling past papers, and building confidence in their abilities. Grinds can be offered both online and in person, and I’m happy to provide notes, homework, or feedback when needed.
