Personal Description:

Hi,

My name is Adam , I went to St.Joseph’s college ‘The Bish’ from 2018 to 2023 in Galway. I’m passionate about education, I loved learning all along my own years. Currently, I’m a student in the university of Leeds studying biomedical science. During university terms, I offer grinds via zoom and whenever I’m home, I like to do lessons in person. Through also being a rowing coach at home (ireland), I’ve learnt that a thorough approach at the students pace works best when tackling new topics and teaching new skills. I’m delighted to be teaching and look forward to meeting any new student!

Tutoring Experience:

Since starting tutoring, I have 100’s of hours teaching lessons done in Junior cert level maths. Starting out, I helped my younger brother with maths during school, I understood that it can be a tricky topic and cause a lot of frustration. With him doing well, I developed my experience tutoring neighbours and so on. At school, I held study groups where to learn the topic I would teach my friends, along with discussing difficult questions in homework. Overall, I really enjoy tutoring and find it to be quite rewarding.

Approach to Grinds:

The approach I take is focused on the exam format, Aiming to recreate the conditions of the junior cert so to prepare the student for the day. I believe allowing the student to build a trust in their own ability with math is key and my job is to hopefully correct any mistakes all whilst clearing away any doubt they may have in themselves. It’s a step by step approach building upon the basics which I believe will set them up for success on the exam day. These grinds are supplementary to school, if there are topics that the student has missed out on or mightn’t get, that’s what I’m here for, to help.
Note: Lessons are one hour in duration.
