Information About Adam - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

I am currently a second year medical student studying at Trinity College Dublin. I love to read, and have a passion for biology and chemistry, in both of which I achieved a grade of H1 in my Leaving Certificate in 2019. This is why I chose to study medicine, as it incorporates both of these subjects in daily life, and is challenging and full of purpose. I'm from Offaly originally, but have been living in Dublin the past two years for college. I believe that biology can be fun and interesting if the right approach to teaching and learning is taken by both the tutor and the student. I have decided to give these biology grinds as I want to share my passion for the subject, and share some of the interesting knowledge that I have gained from studying medicine to supplement the student's knowledge.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught English to classes of Spanish students in the past during the Summer, and I have also given Junior Cycle maths grinds to 3 students. I hold a TEFL Institute Certificate for Teaching English to non-native speakers, and this has allowed me to gain experience in teaching a wide variety of students. I am very used to the online learning system as I myself am currently studying online, and therefore am well-versed in Zoom and other learning platforms.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach is one of understanding the subject matter, rather than ro**Contact Detail Removed**arning, as this is how I studied in school. If a student can understand the content, and connect the dots between different topics, this will increase the commitment of information to their neural network and they will remember more information. As exams are the nature of the game, I will also go through various exam-oriented questions as we move through topics in preparation for the real thing. I will first gain an understanding of what the student has learned already in school, and then build upon this and go further in detail.
