I am an aspiring Clinical Psychologist who recently completed the low intensity cognitive behavioural training course at University College London (UCL). I am now working as a Senior Assistant Psychologist within the NHS, and I also have a passion for tutoring Psychology, English, and English as a foreign language.

I have gained experience teaching at university level, having delivered a variety of seminars and lectures on topics such as depression and anhedonia. I achieved a grade average of 77.5% in my MSc in psychology, which has equipped me with a solid understanding of the scientific literature underpinning current research and the ability to apply this knowledge to excel academically.

I also have significant experience with both entry level and advanced statistics, both in SPSS and R. My dissertation project used an advanced form of regression called linear mixed effects modelling.

I am happy to focus sessions on specific areas of interest, marking rubrics, or styles of learning if you discuss this with me in advance, and I have experience in tailoring sessions for individuals with additional needs and neurodiversity.

Tutoring Experience

I have delivered lectures and seminars on depression at university and college level. I have tutored individuals within the school of psychology whilst working as a research assistant at Reading university. My role as a clinician is also highly didactic, and I deliver therapy using the cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) model to individuals with a range of mental health concerns.

I also spent a year teaching English to students of varying abilities and ages in Hong Kong.

Tutoring Approach

My approach draws on my range of experience, and focuses on each individuals aspirations and needs. I enjoy developing my tutees ability to write academically, assess their strengths and limitations, and further develop their understanding of the subject matter.

I have a wealth of mental health experience via my roles working in a psychiatric hospital as an assistant psychologist, and now as a psychological wellbeing practitioner, and am happy to provide guidance to students on relevant experience for a career in the psychological professions, or around applying to courses.
