I have a B.A. Honours degree in Mathematics from Wadham College at the University of Oxford. After a long career in industry, working as a technical leader for blue-chip companies including Thomson (Reuters) Corporation, Amazon and TomTom, I’m now sharing my knowledge and experience with students and helping them improve their Maths.

Tutoring Experience

For many years, I had senior roles where I needed to explain complex technical matters to non-technical staff and I developed a confident and compelling teaching style.

I’ve been tutoring privately for over 5 years. I’ve worked with students from age 12 to 50, helping them at GCSE and IGCSE, A level, BTEC, HNC/HND, 1st year Undergraduate level and job specific courses in Maths.

Tutoring Approach

I see tutoring as complementary to formal education and I like to bring a fresh perspective to topics with the aim of helping the student to achieve a better understanding and improve self-confidence.

I can help target gaps in your knowledge, maybe because you didn’t understand it the first time or missed entirely because schools were closed.
