Oli

Oli is recognised as one of the most versatile and reliable drummers in the South West. He drums full time for Bristol based bands My Octopus Mind, Ogives Big Band and Lawi Anywar, as well as having his own wedding band and filling in for the likes of Doreen Doreen (!) Oli teaches privately and also for 3 institutions in around Bristol, focussing on the 11-16 age group. He has a wide array of students ranging from 7 to "this is my last chance to learn something" and can teach at any level.

Whether you’re an artist after a drummer for a one-off show a producer after some original beats; or you’re looking for a DBS accredited teacher educating people of all ages and capabilities from home in Bristol; I'm a fella who can offer them all.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching people of all ages and abilities since i moved to Bristol in 2014. I teach in schools with 3 different companies including Bristol Beacon and privately from my studio which has 2 kits set up opposite eachother for a proper learning experience. Not all drum teachers can offer this.

Tutoring Approach

I cater to the needs of the individual by going through grade books with notation, planning personal lessons with no notation or sharing my rhythmic secrets...Sometimes all....

We get a lot done in a lesson. But the main aim is fun. If there aren't any laughs going on, somethings going very wrong. My students always have a good time and walk away with more knowledge than when they walked in. (This is more aimed at the adults, for the kids, there is obviously fun, but that is earned through listening and trying things out!
