I am a qualified secondary school teacher, Head of Maths and Vice Principal who has been tutoring now for over 17 years. I am also a Lead Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Primarily I am moving all my tuition online as of Sept 2020.
Benefits of online learning with me:

Familiarity
Using ones own resources such as laptops or tablets is good for learners. It also allows to continuation of hygiene which is important whilst still overcoming some COVID anxieties.

Comfort
Being at home allows a learner to remain in an environment that they can make comfortable according to their own preferences.

Convenience
Lessons can take place without disruption to the rest of the day. Having to travel to a learning location and back home can take several hours over and above the time spent learning. A one hour lesson can very easily take up a full morning or afternoon.

Security
Learners can feel more anonymous. Online learning allows more withdrawn learners to turn off their camera until they get to know their tutor.

Reliable
Unlike paper notes, online lessons can be recorded for future replay and stored securely without risk of being damaged. An online lesson held in the cloud has never been torn or been illegible after making very quick notes.

I enjoy my work and am an enthusiastic teacher who always finds new ways to make each lesson specific and personal to the student. I find tutoring very rewarding - working with a student to overcome problems and see the progress that 1:1 teaching can give makes the job one of the best out there.

I have limited slots at the moment, but with Y11 leaving in the coming weeks, their slots will become vacant. I am taking on new clients now to fill those slots ahead of the new academic year in September.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in primary schools at all levels to support student progress, and focus now on Y10-11 making sure the students get the best possible outcomes. My pupil age range is currently 8 - 22, covering weekly tuition, exam support and booster sessions in maths.
2019 Grades: 9,9,8,8,7,7,7 - ALL achieving or exceeding their targets.
2020 Grades: 9,8,8,7,6,5 - all meeting or exceeding their targets.
2021 Grades: Higher: 9,8,8,7,7,6,6,6, Foundation 5,5,5,4,4 - all meeting or exceeding their targets. by at least one grade each.
2022 Grades: Higher: 998876, Foundation: 5554 - an amazing year! Some making 3 grades progress over their predictions or failed exams in previous academic year. Well done!
2023 Grades: Higher 98776 Foundation 554444 - Another amazing year, some fantastic progress showing what hard work and dedication can do. Please see the testimonials!

Progress made by all has been excellent, with many students aiming for grades 3 / 4 gaining 4 / 5s. All making excellent progress regardless of starting points. More references available upon request.

Tailored resources produced for exam prep and each session as needed. Hwk is also left too to strengthen skills.

Tutoring Approach

I try to maintain a comfortable environment for pupils to help them reach their full potential. I do suggest some books for the pupils at the same time as providing my own work for them to use as reference markers. I bring all of my own equipment and when it comes to exams, provide plenty of past papers and preparation material. Additionally, you will have my email and can contact my at anytime between sessions with questions or for help on the telephone for school homework if needed. I am keen to help all students achieve beyond their best and to succeed.

With over 1400 pre-planned, trialed and tested lessons, I am able to provide additional resources when required to go beyond what we cover in our hour.
