Tutoring Experience

Enthusiastic Biology, Chemistry and Physics tutor able to instil the love of learning in my students. I have a BSc. in Chemistry from Queen Mary, University of London and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the University of Oxford. I have over 7 years tutoring experience with primary maths, KS3 (Year 7 to 8) science and maths, KS4 (Year 9 to 11) biology, chemistry, physics and maths and KS5 (Year 12 to 13) Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are tailored to meet the needs of my student. Each lesson will consist of teacher led explanation, practice questions to check for student understanding and exam practice. Homework will also be given every lesson.
I like to keep my sessions very interactive by explaining the methods and going through some examples and then giving the students some questions to attempt themselves. I then go through their working out and reasoning, if they are unsure then I will go through the questions with them. If we do not cover everything that we want to in the session then I will ask the student to complete the remainder as homework. I am also available to respond to my students outside of tuition hours if they need any help on their homework.
