2022 A-LEVEL SOCIOLOGY RESULTS- 33% of my school students gained an A*, 66% A*-A and 95% A*-B.
I’m a young, motivated and qualified Teacher of Sociology and Head of Criminology in a large London secondary school, who demonstrates a love for the subject through each and every lesson. I’m a qualified teacher, having gained Qualified Teacher Status and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I also tutor on the side.

Tutoring Experience

As well as being a qualified social sciences teacher, I’ve been tutoring for the last few years. All tutees have gone on to achieve excellent grades. One student in particular joined their school’s course particularly late, but with my support externally, achieved an A grade. I also took sociology A-level myself, followed by a sociology degree, where I achieved a first class degree with honours. I have an excellent understanding of the various A-Level sociology specifications, the exam requirements and subject knowledge. I’m regularly attending CPD for the Sociology and Criminology courses to stay up to date with the latest examiner feedback, changes and advice.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach will suit the needs of the individual. Every student learns differently and I adapt my sessions to meet the needs of the student. Nonetheless, I believe a focus on exam style questions and technique is particularly beneficial when tackling the A-level sociology specification. I’m always looking to build tutees confidence, knowledge and mindset to succeed.
