Emma

I am a highly competent teacher of English Drama and Media Studies. In career spanning over twenty years I have enjoyed fifteen years of successful A level and GCSE teaching. I also was an examiner for several years. I have now been a tutor for three years. I currently work with a vast range of students from all backrounds sometimes in School but mostly in a home setting. I have higly successful track record of improving outcomes for students and of teaching all ages from Key Stage 3 -5. Currently highlights form this year are a student who started on level 3 last September and after a year of lessons with me he passed with a level 7. My A'level English language student this year started off the year lacking confidence and finished with an A.

Tutoring Experience

My vast esperience is my key to your success. I am very familiar with the AQA and Eduqas Literature and language. I understand what the exam boards wants and have resources needed to help you gain the marks. I have worked with all levels of ability and have had experience with pupils with special needs.
I have extensive knowledge of tutoring across all key stages and have enjoyed the experience of fostering pupils’ development I see the key to a successful relationship with pupils is by creating a supportive environment that encourages you to work to the best of your ability.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring has a solid foundation from my vast classroom experience. I believe personal relationships are fundamental to student success. The direction I take comes from you the student and your needs. Everyone is different and whatever is your struggle is my mission to fix. I will of course concentrate on the questions and how to answer them but my main goal will be to give you the confidence that you can do this!
