I have a passion for English literature and language something which I have installed in both my high achieving daughters. I want every child to feel as passionate about the subject as I do. I aim to bring the fun into lessons that teachers sometimes struggle to do within schools due to large class sizes. Every child is capable, it is my job as a tutor to help them translate their capability into a school environment, working alongside parents to do this.
I've been an English teacher for the past 10 years at a school in South London, along with this I have been teaching at a private tution school in North London preparing children for their 11+ exams, primarily for schools such as Haberdashers, Henrietta Barnet, Q E Boys, North London Collegiate and Harrow Private school, with a high success rate. I have previously worked with children with disabilities such as aspergers, ADHD and mild autism with much success, enabling them to feel confident and safe in a learning environment.
A mother of two myself, I believe that it is with a gentle approach that children need to be encouraged to unlock a subject passion which translates well to learning and produces the best results. When first meeting a student I devise a programme of outstanding English tailored to them through an initial assessment, in order to maximise their potential. Every child is different, therefore needs to be taught differently, something which I strive to do with all my students.
