Over 12 years private tutoring, with excellent results. Qualified teacher and lecturer.

## Tutoring Approach:

Evaluation of weaknesses -often basic numeracy. I work on these for the first few sessions. I then move onto the more sophisticated material. **From Sally ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*William has taught some A level physics sessions to my son. He is patient and approachable. He explains topics clearly with a range of examples.

**From Alecia ( /5):**

*(University Maths)*William is very good at explaining mathematical theories and has helped to refresh my knowledge of this subject.

**From Stephen ( /5):**

*(GCSE Physics)*

**From Geraint ( /5):**

*(University Maths)*VERY EFFECTIVE! After progressing in my career I was required to enroll on a HNC in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical). After being out of academic education for four years, my maths skills were more than a bit shaky. With Bills help, I gained an overall distinction in the Engineering Maths module. He also helped me build confidence in Thermodynamics, in which I gained a merit.

I would definitely recommend Bill, and intend on using him when I progress to degree level.

**From Ceri ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*Excellent knowledge, very caring and sympathetic. Really easy going and flexible. I would highly recommend Mr .

**From Andrew ( /5):**

*(A-Level Maths)*Breaks subject down in a manner that makes it easier to understand.

**Reply from William:**Thanks.

**From Natalie ( /5):**

*(A-Level Maths)*For the 6 months I had lessons with William I found him easy to get along with and I found that he explained things very clearly, I felt that I came away from lessons actually understanding the the work. With William's support I managed to improve my A level maths grade from a C to a B. In particular, he helped me to improve my statistics grade from a U to a B. I highly recommend William as an A level maths tutor to anyone who's looking!!

**Reply from William:**Glad it went okay!

**From Debbie ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*My 15 year old son has always lacked confidence when it comes to maths - even after extra tuition from two previous tutors.

Once I explained the situation to Bill in April 2015 he put me at ease with his laid back, professional manner and my son has really come into his own and now believes he can do well and talks about maths, as for the first time ever he understands and enjoys it.

Bill has gone above and beyond helping my son and has even assisted him with some Physics too. Bill clearly has a lot of patience, understands my son's way of thinking / ability of the subject and works so well getting the best out of him. My son's main maths GCSE exam is due in November and he is preparing for this now with Bill's help. I know he will do his best as he really has had such excellent tuition and guidance from Bill.

Bill keeps me updated with my son's progress and despite my son usually finding extra curricular work a chore, this has been set up by Bill and my son does it effortlessly without moaning - which is definitely a first!

Bill is an excellent, professional tutor who I feel we are lucky to have found and I highly recommend him.

**From Chris ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*I could say how much improvement in math there was after my daughter was tutored by William but I think the biggest thing he taught her was to enjoy the subject. She has gained hugely in confidence and as well as feeling she has done much better in the exam than expected (no result yet) she now believes it is a serious option for A level. Worth every penny!

**From Siobhan ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*William was very flexible in terms of lesson times and immediately understood what was necessary in order to inprove my son's understanding and indeed enjoyment of A level physics. He has a relaxed but thorough approach to teaching and we rate him extremely highly .

**From John ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*Emma found that her lessons with William have been very useful in preparing for her Physics AS level exams - particularly in the sections dealing with "novel situations" (a fish jumping out of a boat) where it is important to understand what forces the question is referring to before being able to answer it.

**From Daniel ( /5):**

*(University Maths)*An excellent tutor who has a great way of applying mathematics to my job which helps my understanding. Excellent technique in breaking things down into manageable sizes. Highly recommended.

**From Nathan ( /5):**

*(University Maths)*William’s a grate teacher who creates a friendly atmosphere, highly recommended.

**From Lynne ( /5):**

*(A-Level Maths)*Only had a few lessons so far, but very pleased. William makes things very easy to understand, set good homework and is easy to get on with.

**From Bryan ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*I contacted Mr only 6 weeks before the AS exam and had 4 lessons with him which helped make clear a lot of the complicated areas, particularly circuits and particle Physics. He has a variety of different ways of explaining things and encourages you to think for yourself. He also has a great way of relating areas of the course to real life examples which further helped my understanding. He improved my grades on past papers from C to A in a very short time scale. I estimate that his help gained me approx 12 marks in the exam.

I feel extremely lucky to have found someone with such skills and I intend to continue with Mr from September not just for the syllabus but the broader knowledge of Physics in general that he is able to help me with.

**From Hannah ( /5):**

*(GCSE Maths)*gwd stuff!… learnt a lot, found mr william!!very, very helpful would definately be back for a top up if needed!

**From Jared ( /5):**

*(A-Level Physics)*Great teaching style, easy to get along with and is flexible with his teaching times. He also gives you great understanding into the topic rather than just trying to make you learn it for the exam.

From Georg (5/5):(Casual Learner Maths)He taught me the principles of differential and integral Calculus in one hour. 'Nuff said.
