Personal Description:

An almost unique individual with a talent for problem solving, who has recently completed their A-Levels in STEM subjects. I am currently studying a Foundation Degree in Computer Science. I have experience in both tutoring and being tutored and also working with children, thus I decided I would try to become a tutor myself not only in order to help survive through university but to also gain some worthy experience.

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout my school life I have volunteered with a number of organizations, such as a Mentoring program in which I took on two younger students and helped them with their studies in Mathematics, Technology and Biology, after several months tutoring their grades improved significantly. My ability to adapt and my communication skills were put to the test during this program. The program of which I am most proud is the Buddying scheme, in which I, along with a class-mate take a younger class under our wings. This experience has really allowed me to have a better understanding of what responsibility means.

Tutoring Approach:

In the past when I was volunteering as a tutor I developed a strategy.
First of all I assess the level of the student. When that is done I find out the difficulties the student is having with the subject and then I address those difficulties by using simple step by step approach.
I firmly believe that every student is capable but they sometimes lack the tool to understanding. I help them by identifying their problems and encourage them to ask questions and gain practical knowledge. My focus is not just to help the student secure more marks but a full conceptual understanding of the subject.
