Personal Description:

In 2017 I graduated with a high 2:1 undergraduate degree in biochemistry with a year abroad from the University of Leicester. In 2015/6 I spent an academic year at the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing mainly on computational biology. Currently, I am a Master's student at Imperial College London in bioinformatics, which requires an adept understanding of biology, organic chemistry, maths, and computer science. I am patient and understanding, with a love for sharing ideas and aiding the development of others.

Due to reading a wide range of material, I pull my methods from a wide range of schools of thought. This has led me to be an advocate of science students reading arts and humanities and vice versa for a more creative and holistic understanding of as many topics as possible to expand their types of thought.

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout school and my undergraduate degree, I have consistently taken part in peer mentoring schemes to help younger students to excel. This is collectively around 7 years experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I encourage critical thinking and independent thought to help my students be receptive to as much information as possible. By considering the learning material given, I will point out to the students what teachers/lecturers will most likely be looking for, allowing focused learning, though also providing the student with supplementary learning material for breadth and depth of understanding. I will point out which information is best to learn by wrote (memorising) and which are best to learn by mastery (fundamental understanding) based upon previous experience.
