I am a highly experienced and very well qualified Advanced Skill Teacher and former Assistant Headteacher. In a highly successful, 30 year teaching career, I have been a Special Educational Needs representative, a Head of Year, a Head of History, an Examiner for AQA, an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) and an Assistant Headteacher. I have worked in large secondary schools, delivering high quality teaching and learning and school leadership.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a highly experienced and very well qualified teacher with over 30 years teaching experience, who has worked in large secondary schools, delivering high quality teaching and learning and school leadership.
I offer individual one to one tutoring for primary and secondary aged students in 11 Plus, SATs and Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level History, as well as Psychology, ASDAN, Study Skills, Personal, Social, Health and Career Education (PSHCE), Philosophy for Children and assistance with Personal Statements.

I offer a no obligation, free introductory chat to discuss your young person's needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very caring and supportive teacher. I believe in a close working relationship between the child, the tutor and their parents. Learning should be enjoyable, fun and satisfying. I can offer your child the best possible support and tutoring, providing bespoke learning that is tailored to your needs and uses a wide variety of approaches and activities.You will see their confidence and understanding grow and with it their achievement.
This can be a short or long term programme of support, a confidence boost or a more structured programme of learning.
As parents, you will begin to feel better equipped to support your child and avoid those difficult situations where you want to help but don`t quite know what to do for the best.
I can also offer experienced and independent advice about your child's school and the education system to help you make the most of your child's one chance to succeed.
