I am an experienced classroom teacher and tutor planning to do tuition full time from September 2018. I can also offer tutoring over this coming summer 2018.
I love working with children of all ages and particularly bringing the joy of reading and Maths to those who are struggling within these areas!
I am very calm and patient having worked for years with special needs students who require a certain approach and an understanding of their needs.
I currently work as a Maths teacher in a mixed secondary school In the SEN Dept . My pupils are those who need catch up/ remedial work and are still working at NC levels 1 - 4 as in Primary school levels.
Teacher since 1981
A mainstream primary teacher for 17 yrs
Then a special education teacher for the next 21 years
I work with primary ,special needs and lower secondary pupils
I specialize in SEN type work as well as Maths and English .
I ran the primary autism resource base in Camden for nine years
Much varied SEN tutoring experience including work at a behaviour unit
Extensive remedial experience with primary age pupils in English and Maths as well as lower secondary students who are working at a primary level.
I have tutored extensively in pupils homes over the last 10 years.
It is often the one to one nature of tutoring that allows the pupil that little extra help and support that is needed in order for them to maybe ask questions that they may be too shy to ask in class and to have facts/methods explained that clarify their learning.
I listen to the pupil and try and work out exactly where they are missing out or misunderstanding at school and attempt to fill this gap in my sessions.
I work on confidence building and helping the students feel good about themselves as a learner which in todays data driven climate often goes under the radar! Through this positive working relationship the pupil can then reach their potential and even enjoy themselves along the way hopefully!
I always make the session as much fun as possible sometimes incorporating educational games as a way of learning and for short breaks within the lessons.
I believe that the relationship between tutor and tutee is of paramount importance in order that the student makes maximum progress in their studies. I have recently begun to do some online primary tuition for overseas students so am available for this also now.

I so wish i could have carried on! Fortunately I am doing Tutoring full time from September so this issue shouldn't arise again.
Good luck to you and A for the future
Ginny’s work with dd made a HUGE difference. Her confidence has grown to the point at which she now enjoys maths, and really likes doing her maths homework, and maths challenges, and is now in the top set at her secondary school.
DD really enjoyed her lessons. They were well paced, with games interspersed between topics keeping them interesting, and allowing time for brain down-time before the next topic.
so we can’t thank Ginny enough
dd really misses her lessons!
Delighted to hear how well she is doing in school! She was always such a pleasure to teach.
