I am an English Teacher who is driven and enthusiastic about my subject. I have a PGCE in Secondary English Teaching and BA and MA in English. My approach to learning is tailored to the pupil, up to date curriculum and examinations; my teaching has been recognised as 'outstanding' as a result.

I believe every one can be successful with the right tools and knowledge; this approach, my supportive personality and the effective learning methods I use, support tutees to excel, build confidence and recognise the enjoyment and importance of English. Likewise, those who are confident students and are on the road to achieving exceptional results as equally support to develop their skillset and tailor their responses to achieve superb results!

I am extremely interested educational research and continually undergo professional development to indulge my interest and support students. This, in turn, ensures my pupils receive tuition which is highly effective at both delivering the learning required and making it stick!

Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor for over 6 years, with pupils ranging in age from 5-18.
I have taught in a wide array of educational settings, including peer tutoring, assisting in the classroom and teaching pupils aged 11-18. I have worked in challenging environments, 1:1, online teaching, small groups and full face to face classes. As such, I am adept at tailoring my approach to the needs of my pupils and class size. I consider the key to successful teaching is to build a rapport with the pupils and provide a safe and stimulating environment to learn. All of my tutoring lessons are individually tailored to the pupil to ensure their time is spent effectively and productively.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is designed around the requirements of each individual. Education may require us all to sit 'the same exam' but how each person achieves success is based on their personal attributes and strengths. I build on each learners individual skillset and their personal goals, tailoring the learning experience to optimise lesson time and build confidence. Each lesson I provide will be clearly structured with objectives, scaffolding a path to the end goal... success and confidence in English, no matter what stage of the educational journey.
