I am a very friendly, patient, supportive and flexible Chinese teacher who is passionate in Chinese language, art and culture, and have over 10 years experience in Chinese language teaching.
A qualified UK Chinese teacher who has completed my teacher training course at London Confucius Institute and School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. I graduated with 1st class honours degree in BSc Economic from UCL and worked in management consultancy for 3 year after graduating. However I have always passionate about teaching, language and art so I took an one year teaching course in SOAS while I was working and became a language teacher and Chinese art consultant after I obtained my teaching qualification.
I am currently teaching Chinese at one of University of London's colleges in central London. I have previously taught Chinese at SOAS, University of London, and an independent college in South Kensington London for 7 years.
I have been tutoring privately, at University Language Center, private school and Independent College in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and London area for over 10 years.
All my previous GCSE students achieved A* in both GCSE and IGCSE Mandarin. Most of my A-Level students achieved A in their A Level (Edexcel) Chinese. With my assistance, a few of my students achieved scholarships to study Chinese at both National Taiwan Normal University and Beijing Foreign Language University. I have very positive feedback from both students and parents.
I am very experienced in tutoring for children and adults at all levels including: GCSE; IGCSE, Edxecel A Levels; Cambridge Pre-U; IB, HSK exams, Business purpose, Causal, Travel or Leisure. I'm familiar with the required syllabus and criteria and very efficient to prepare for the exams.
I have privately taught students from Eton College, Cheltenham Ladies College, St Paul's School, St Paul's s School for Girls, Godolphin& Latymerfor and Harrow School in preparation for their GCSE/IGCSE, all students have achieved A*.
I have 8 years experience of teaching students with special needs.
My students' age is range from 8 years old to 60+ years old.
I do not only teach Chinese language itself, but also the cultural background and customs in order for students to communicate effectively and easily in Chinese.
I appreciate that different individuals have a different learning needs and ways of learning. Therefore, I have a flexible approach and design different instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. I help my students developing their language skills in four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
In the run up to exams, I offer specialist technique-based advice and support, that have been proven to improve grades by several levels. I also offer exam and revision planning sessions for those students who need strategic support in order to achieve their goals.
I try my best to help my student to achieve their learning goal and enjoy my lesson at the same time.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for a chat about how best I can meet the needs of yourself or your child.
