Information About Veronica - Newton Abbot tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Veronica:
While working towards my Classics degree, in addition to Latin and Greek I studied Ancient History, and specialised in my chosen authors and selected aspects of the languages and literature. My particular interests were Greek drama, philology - the derivation and development of words into Greek and Latin and through to their use in modern languages, and the works of Lucretius and Euripides.
Throughout my career in IT I have used teaching and training skills to take formal courses and to coach staff on a one to one basis in specific IT and management skills, so I have a long background of teaching and working with people to pass on my skills and knowledge.
Over the last two academic years I have been teaching both Latin and Greek, in both cases to students who have been unable to take the whole course at their schools. I taught my Latin student the set texts parts of the syllabus, and she achieved an A* in her GCSE. My Greek student, who worked on the subject only with myself not at school, achieved an A at GCSE. I have also tutored English GCSE with a boy who achieved the grade C that he needed for his sixth form school of choice.
I provide relaxed and friendly one to one tuition school pupils and adults. I can cover the Latin language and Latin authors and their works, designed to fit with your needs and areas of interest, and similarly I give tuition in Ancient Greek and the Greek authors, and in English and English Literature. I offer Latin tuition to all levels of the school curriculum through GCSE and A-level, or if you wish, just studying the language and the culture for your own interest and pleasure. For Ancient Greek and English I offer a similar approach up to GCSE.
