Spanish Teacher in Oxford

I´m a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Costa Rica. I have travelled around Latin America and learnt about its different cultures, people, costumes, and landscapes. I have been living in the UK for a year now. I consider myself a very responsible and professional person passionate about Education in general. I recently finished my master´s degree in Child Development and Education at the University of Oxford and I am currently collaborating as a research assistant in the Education Department. I will be very happy to help you learn such a great and useful language as Spanish.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in Costa Rica as a kindergarten English teacher and informally as a Spanish tutor for foreigners living in Costa Rica.

Tutoring Approach

I believe an optimal way of learning through one-on-one teaching is through scaffolding, which means providing the required aid to help the student become an independent learner. Also, for learning a foreign language I believe it is important to learn about the cultures that speak the language as a way to make the classes more interesting and relevant, and to aim for a significant learning. I make use of technological resources as well, such as computer for watching videos or listening to conversations or songs, mobile language applications, and voice recorders. I work on the basis of the client needs and requests.
