I am a recently retired Maths teacher, I have taught in an inner city boys school for 14 years.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 38 years in total. Prior to teaching at the boys school I taught in South Africa. I have remedial training and have experience in diagnosing problem areas and working through them with students. While teaching I did tutor a number of students.

Tutoring Approach

I find a starting point, problematic areas; and then working through these. Sometimes it is necessary to work on the basic concepts which cause the more challenging topics to become problematic. I have found that an understanding of maths does tend to boost the confidence of the students.
