I live in the University Area of Reading, am UK educated, and studied advanced mathematics for 4 years during my undergraduate degree. I hold MEng (First Class Hons) in Aerospace Engineering and postgraduate MSc (Distinction) in Computation. I hold grade A in A-level Mathematics scoring maximum points in the pure mathematics components (I did my A-levels before the A* grade was introduced).
I have completed the whole of my education in the UK, from GCSEs and A-levels to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at The University of Manchester. My 4-year undergraduate degree consisted mainly of advanced pure and applied mathematics with some statistics. As well as finishing both my degrees in the top division, I was awarded two scholarships for outstanding achievement in my undergraduate degree.
I have been privately tutoring part time for 7 years, mainly in A-level and undergraduate mathematics. I have taught Pure Maths, Statistics, Mechanics and Physics from various different exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel and OCR. The majority of my students are A-level Maths students and undergraduates from various subjects who are doing mathematics modules as part of their degree.
Flexible, depends on student. I am very patient and am happy to explain things again until the student properly understands a concept. I prefer to meet the student and/or parents before we take the first lesson so that I can find out more about the student and plan the best approach.
