I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with 15 years of experience. I am a well organised, patient teacher who takes pride in helping children fulfil their potential. I enjoy my work and as a very enthusiastic person, I am always on the lookout to find ways to make each lesson enjoyable and personal to the student. I am willing to travel on weeknights after school.

Tutoring Experience

I have spent 15 years teaching in a very prestigious local junior school within Sunderland. During my time there, I taught children from year 3 up to year 6. I was highly involved in SATs testing and therefore fully aware of the question types and knowledge needed to excel in this area.

Tutoring Approach

I believe it's important to discuss needs with the children as well as the parents to get a feel for the areas in which they appear to be struggling in. Small assessments tend to be extremely informative in terms of where to start and pitch sessions. Once areas of weakness or strengths are established, focused learning plans would be developed to streamline and fast track a child's learning and progress.

I offer a warm and comfortable personality as I believe a student needs to feel confident as they learn. I come with my own equipment as I have a plethora of resources from my teaching years and access to recent/past test papers if necessary.
