The 2023/24 academic year will be my 10th year as a Primary School Teacher.
I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a BA (Hons) in Education Studies, having first completed a Foundation Degree in Early Years with the same University. I then graduated from Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford with a PGCE (Primary).
I became a Primary School Teaching Assistant when my daughters were at secondary school. I did this for seven years, working in all classes from Year 1 to Year 6; as well as a period of time in EYFS to support my Early Years Foundation Degree study. I then left to complete my Degree and PGCE.
During my PGCE year I completed four placements covering both Primary Key Stages, as well as a short enrichment placement in a school for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Working in Primary education, and being a Mum, has prepared me very well for tutoring young children.
I am extremely patient, have high expectations, and take great pride in adapting my teaching to the individual needs of the children I work with.
