I retired from teaching early in 2016 after a very successful teaching career. I attended Loughborough University where I studied History. My PGCE was completed at Exeter University. Since retiring I have been asked to tutor a number of sixth form students in both history and politics. I enjoy sport especially cricket, rugby and tennis. I am a published author - my latest book is 'The Punknowle Plot', which is to be released on 29 June 2017. I received a Good Schools Guide award for the A level grades achieved by my students. I am an OCR A level examiner.
I was a teacher of History and Politics at Queen's College, Taunton, 1989-92. I was Head of History and Politics at Seaford College near Petworth for 24 years. I have been tutoring in a private capacity, 2016-present.
I consider myself to be friendly with a good sense of humour, which I think is important for successful tuition. I enjoy the one to one approach and I am happy to employ Skype and FaceTime if required. In addition to subject support I am happy to offer a programme that enables anyone who is not at school or college to undertake and pass a full A level course in only one academic year or less.
