My name is Tom and I am 38 years old. I have an MSci 2.1 Masters Degree in Physics from Imperial College, London.
I began my working career as an engineer in the South-West of England. I have since been teaching GCSE Science and A-level Physics in secondary schools for the last 12 years. I now specialise in post-16 teaching and I am currently working full-time as a teacher of A-level Physics and Mathematics at Lowestoft Sixth Form College.
My hourly tutoring rate is perhaps a little higher than some, however I believe that my experience as a classroom teacher means that any students I tutor will get value for money. For one thing I have, over the years, honed the quickest and most efficient ways of teaching the more tricky topics and I have devised many strategies for providing clarity in the more challenging concepts of A-level physics and mathematics. I believe that I can help students to overcome difficulties more quickly than other cheaper, but less experienced tutors. Furthermore, as a current practising A-level teacher, I am constantly kept up to date and informed of the latest teaching techniques and strategies.
I use a combination of classroom based and on-line resources to teach and consolidate specific topics.
I also make frequent use of past-paper exam questions as these are a vital key resource in improving progress, understanding and exam success.
