Home Tuition for Maths and English in Barking

Hello, my name is Thomas and I believe that your child has great potential. I am the Head of Maths at the top primary school in the UK (The Times) and have had five years experience planning and teaching English and Maths lessons to an outstanding standard, enabling all of my pupils pass their SATs tests, and many to achieve the Greater Depth standard.

I am a polite, conscientious and hard-working individual with high standards. I completed my PGCE qualification in June 2015 at the University College London (UCL) whilst completing the prestigious Teach First programme. I also obtained a History degree at the University of Leicester from 2010-2013. I am currently working towards my National Postgraduate Qualification for Senior Leadership.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in year 4, year 5 and year 6 for the last five years. This has included preparing my children for their SATs test, in which every child reached National Standard and a large percentage also achieved the higher standard, greater depth. I have been the Head of PE, Arithmetic, Times tables and now, in my current role, Maths.

Tutoring Approach

I have high standards and believe learning must be a personal, tailor-made experience shared between the learner and the teacher.

My teaching approach is designed around establishing core traits of confidence, perseverance, resilience, determination and ambition.

My children have become confident and resilient learners with ambitious goals and as a result all 30 of my children have consistently made significant progress during my teaching career.
