I am a qualified veterinary surgeon, having graduated from Cambridge University in 2012, and with a first class degree in zoology from the same institution (2009). While at Cambridge, I was employed by Cambridge University as a supervisor in comparative vertebrate biology, forming part of the teaching for the 2nd year veterinary medicine course. I found that I really enjoyed tutoring students, and so decided to keep tutoring even after graduating.
I have worked and travelled extensively abroad, including South Africa, Thailand and China, and these experiences add the to richness of the lessons I am able to provide to my students.
I have A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, History, Maths, Physics and Politics, I also have an AS-level in English Literature.
I have worked as a supervisor at Cambridge University, teaching Comparative Vertebrate Biology as part of the 2nd year Veterinary Medicine course. I have extensive experience tutoring Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-level and GCSE. Indeed, a recent student saw their Biology A-level module grade improve from a U to an A*, and another saw their modular result improve from an E to an A. As you can imagine, this sort of progress is transformative in terms of the life opportunities available to my students, and I could not be prouder of them.
I like to think I am a very approachable person, and I encourage my students to ask questions whenever there is something that they are not clear on. When desired, I set 'homework' tasks, and strive to provide an idealised answer to the task, as well as marking and commenting on the student's submission. I am happy to tutor both 1 on 1 and in groups.
