I offer twelve years of experience as a primary and secondary school French teacher, I am a French native speaker and I hold a PGCE in Modern Languages from Goldsmiths College, London.
I also hold a MSc in Economics (Hons.) from Pierre Mendes France, University of Grenoble, France.
I am an enthusiastic and creative person who is passionate about learning. As well as a very committed teacher I am a dedicated learner who is constantly in search of knowledge to self improve and to bring the best of my students.
In my current teaching position I:
. Developed and implemented a unique training strategy with corresponding curriculum, which enables pupils to master complex language, and memorisation, and lift learners’ pride and confidence in their capabilities as a result
. Train peers across the borough as part of schools’ collaborations in sharing best practices
Below are written feedback from my Headteacher and Ofsted,
‘Can’t believe the pronunciation! You do realise no one else is doing this in primary, people will want to come and see our amazing French provision!’ (from Headteacher Clare Sealy, TES people of the year 2018)
‘ … written French work is inspiring and exemplifies the very high standards which are set for pupils’ (Ofsted 2018)
‘Therese delivers lessons effectively through good balance of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills holding students’ attention’ (Language Consultant from school in Lewisham)
Twelve years experience as a French teacher ranging from Primary to Secondary Inner London State schools as well as Adults Learning Centres. I am familiar with National Curriculum requirements and I developed expertise in all aspects of teaching – from thorough differentiated lesson planning, designing own teaching material and marking.
I currently work as a part-time French Specialist Teacher in an OFSTED -rated as outstanding school in Tower Hamlets.
Being a native French speaker I have an in-depth knowledge of the language, its pronunciation and experience of the country.
With an excellent knowledge of French grammar, I cater for the needs of those students who are interested in the language but also its mechanics.
Having taught French to a wide range of students I can plan my lessons creatively to engage all learners regardless of their ability and age.
