I love all things science. I completed my undergraduate studies of Biomedical science, following that I went to work in the NHS as a Scientist. I felt I hadn't finished learning and was offered a PhD at Kingston University, London. My PhD involved studying chemistry, biochemistry and physiology. There was a huge amount of statistic work, scientific writing and attention to detail when it came to completing my thesis. I then went on to work in both a pharmaceutical company and academia. I am now a full time mother to two boys and want to get back to science and maths and pass my passion for knowledge on to others.
Throughout my PhD I taught undergraduate level science to Pharmacy and Biomedical degree students. I supervised Masters level students, and assisted PhD students helping them achieve their goals.
I have experience teaching maths at KS2/3, GCSE and helped trainee teachers with the numeracy skills test.
I would like to help those students that are struggling with maths/science that need a some extra confidence to get the grade they want.
I have varying approaches to teaching as everybody learns differently.
I can help the student
-work through the syllabus week by week
-practice past papers
-help the student with their homework and areas where they are struggling and
-improve scientific writing
I offer a discounted rate to parents working within the NHS and HM Forces on production of appropriate ID.
