This is how 2 referees rated Teresa:
I received my PhD from the University of Oxford three years ago and now work in scientific research. My original degree is in Mathematics and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and communicating the subject to others in a clear and concise way.
Whilst completing my PhD I tutored maths to earth sciences undergraduates in groups of 2-4. I have also tutored maths at both GCSE and A Level standard during the holidays of my undergraduate degree.
I am flexible in my approach to tutoring, depending on the student, and am both patient and encouraging. I believe that maths becomes a lot easier when it is based on a solid understanding of the principles behind it. Whilst at schools students can often be encouraged to simply learn the methods; most students will find tackling problems a lot easier if they understand where the methods come from.
For the sake of exams it is also important to spend time focusing on past papers and so I would go through a lot of these with any student when it comes close to exam time.

I am hoping Peggy feels calmer and a bit more organised as she goes back to school. Organisation is a big issue for her and I would welcome even more help with this! It also helps when you talk through with her where she can improve in her methods - I have noticed that she has a clearer idea of what is going wrong (particularly with reading formulae backwards) and what she needs to do about it.
We were a bit worried about using someone 'off the internet' without a personal recommendation but feel that it has worked out well - definitely from our end and we hope you feel you can work with Peggy too.
