Information About Tej - Woodford Green tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Tej:
I am an Assistant Headteacher at an outstanding North London school. My teaching has been graded 'outstanding' both overall and in each of the eight Teachers' Standards.
My passion for teaching stems in large part from my own love of learning and my desire to pass this on to others. I studied music at the University of Chichester and achieved first class honours. I subsequently studied for a masters in Musicology at the University of Southampton. After teaching abroad, I gained a place on the competitive Teach First Leadership Development Programme and completed my PGCE at UCL Institute of Education. Alongside my teaching, I recently completed a UCL masters in Educational Leadership from UCL.
Teaching children of primary school age is my passion and I find nothing more fulfilling than guiding them towards realising their potential and raising their own expectations of themselves. I am based in South Woodford and have my own car, so I can easily travel to locations in North London, East London and South Essex.
I have worked in the English Schools System since 2013, both in West Sussex and London. Prior to this I taught English as a foreign language in Poland to both Adults and children in both class and one-to-one formats.
I have ABRSM qualifications in both Music Theory (Grade 5) and Piano (Grade 7). As a peripatetic music teacher, I have successfully trained students to pass instrumental grade exams. As well as the piano, I have also taught the acoustic guitar (my first instrument) to a number of students.
All great teaching is reliant on strong relationships. My approach is therefore rooted in building rapport with tutees and understanding their motivations and needs as learners. Once their areas of strength and areas for development have been identified, we can begin to close the gap between where the learner is now and where they need to be. I believe that success is its own motivation, therefore, I always seek to praise and help my learners recognise the progress they are making.
