I am a passionate fully qualified primary school teacher (QTS) with 10 years experience. I have taught at schools in Birmingham and London as a Key Stage 2 class teacher, which has given me an extensive knowledge of the curriculum (particularly English and maths). As a teacher myself, I will understand targets set by teachers and how they can make clear progress and succeed expectations in their SATs or entrance exams. I am confident in my ability to improve skills in comprehension, SPAG, writing and maths skills.
I spent a year teaching English to both children and adults in Thailand and have recently been teaching English online. I really love working with children in a classroom environment and on a one to one basis.
I have spent time travelling and lived in Thailand and both allowed me to experience other cultures, traditions and languages which I find exciting. I love photography, reading and trying new food!
I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) and have been qualified for 6 years. However I have around 10 years teaching experience.
I taught for 5 years in primary schools (mainly age 7-11) and consistently received outstanding feedback. I trained primary children for their SATs exams and saw incredible progress and many soar in confidence.
I developed effective planning and assessment skills especially in KS2 English and maths, a strong ability to communicate with students and parents and to support children with learning difficulties. I can manage challenging behaviour effectively and engage and encourge students through my careful planning.
I taught English as a foreign language for 1 year in Thailand - this gave me an opportunity to plan and deliver lessons to large classes and use games, reading challenges, tests and role play to improve their language skills.
Additionally I have experience as a teaching assistant in a class with many behavioural difficulties and special educational needs and an online English teacher (I have received a 5 star rating for every lesson in 5 months!)
I am a confident teacher and able to develop and maintain strong relationships with my students through positive reinforcement and a willingness to listen and get to know them. I prepare activities, tests and games tailored to their specific needs and targets. I set my own targets for the pupils to work towards and can set homework to enhance the level of progress.
I am creative, approachable and very patient. I am happy to spend time making games, or searching for ideas that I think will benefit that child and create a fun lesson that will engage students and develop their skills.
