I am a graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) and have been working in the city of London for almost 3 years as a strategy consultant, one of the most prestigious jobs in the city. Currently I am working as an entrepreneur building up several businesses.
Academically, I graduated from the LSE where I attained a 2:1, achieving a first in almost half my modules and was awarded a number of awards from the university for contribution to student life. I took my A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, History and Economics which I got A's for. I also took 15 GCSEs achieving 11 A*s, 2As and 2 Bs. I am also currently undertaking a number of post-graduate courses in Arabic, Philosophy and other subjects with the aim of continuing to develop myself self after university.
Aside from my work and studies, run many voluntary projects both locally and nationally. I have always felt it important to give back to society, often seeing that it actually gives you more in return! These are all help to ensure a healthy balance between study and other things and make me a much more rounded person and communicate with the individuals better.
I have been tutoring for a number of years now since my days at university, teaching mathematics and economics at the highest level. I have develop a good technique of getting individuals to achieve the best grades possible and have been successful in supporting many students do well in their exams.
I have been teaching at a supplementary school for young children for over 5 years now for classes of over 15 children aged 5-15. As I taught 3 classes for over a year, I had to design and implement a teaching schedule of what had to be taught, setting regular homework and assessing the children for an annual exam. This breadth of experience gained from tutoring class settings and one-to-one has trained me to adapt to any students needs and help them progress in a way most suited to them
My work as a consultant and entrepreneur has also meant I regularly manage teams effectively to achieve their potential as well as convincing senior clients on the work we have produced. This experience has given me strong communication skills and an ability to adapt to each individuals needs and communicate often complicated information to them in a simple and methodical manner.
From personal experience, often the most complicated of concepts can be broken up into the simplest building blocks to help a person understand. My style of tutoring does just that, tackling the problems which seem hardest to solve in a few simple steps which reduce it to a few simple and logical processes.
As someone who has gone through the system, I know exactly what it takes to pass exams and the time pressures which surround it. Because of this, I like to teach students so they can feel comfortable with the exams, using course syllabuses and past exam material to help them along. This style will often be used near exam time where time is limited. My preferred style would be to set out a methodical timetable which could be worked on throughout the year to help gain a deeper understanding of the subject and develop their own thinking.
