I am an approachable and a friendly person and form good relationships with my tutees. An extremely organised person, I ensure that my lessons are well prepared with clear, achievable targets. I am very passionate about everything I take on board and fully commit myself to the role in hand.
A wide range of experience throughout Key Stages 2-4 with a specialism in Maths and English as a Second Language.
Currently managing English as an Additional Language department in a large secondary school in Woodley, Berkshire and working closely with the Maths Department to improve grades of targeted GSCE students.
Highly experienced in one to one as well as small group tutoring with students achieving and surpassing target grades.
An interactive approach to tutoring where both the tutor and the tutee are equally involved in setting targets and achieving them. I believe that students achieve their potential only when they take onus of own learning and track own progress.
Home learning to consolidate work done in tutoring sessions is key to progress ,therefore, I believe in setting achievable home learning tasks on a regular basis.
Finally, building a relationship of trust where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn from own mistakes is crucial for any learning to take place. Students in my sessions feel confident to ask questions, try, even on account of making errors in order to develop knowledge and skills.
