I am a Science teacher with 26 years experience. I have taught all disciplines up to Key stage 4. I am married with 4 children between the ages of 10 and 19. I thoroughly enjoy my job and the thrill of helping students develop their understanding of scientific concepts.
I have taught all the disciplines to Key Stage 4 and Biology to A2 level over 24 years. Students regularly exceed expectation in their examination results. I have experience of teaching courses from all 3 examination boards. I believe in trying a wide range of techniques to help students develop their learning of the key facts and being able to apply this knowledge to answer questions in an examination context.
Students that I have tutored at GCSE, have gone on to study successfully at 'A' Level while those studying 'A' Level Biology, are now at Imperial College, London;studying Chemistry; Leicester University to study Chemistry; UEA to study Environmental Sciences; and Central European University, Budapest to study Medicine.
To start with I like to find out where the student is in their knowledge and understanding and relate this to where they want/need to be for their particular course. My aim is very much to work in partnership with the student to enable them to achieve their desired goals.
