I have recently relocated back to Stirling after teaching in Manchester since 2012. I am enthusiastic about my subject and love the opportunity to unlock that passion in students.
I love sport and was delighted to be able to combine my love of sport and biology at University where I studied Sports Biomedicine. I continued to study physiology during a research masters in 2009. As a postgraduate student, I helped ran practical sessions and I realised my interest in teaching. I completed my PGCE in secondary science in 2012.
I am a confident and successful A-level/ Higher teacher of biology and teach all three sciences up to and GCSE/ National 5. Prior to my relocation to Stirling, I was working in a very large comprehensive school in Manchester. Working in such a large school with classes of mixed abilities and different special educational needs, I have become skilled at differentiation. This ensures a level of support and stretch and challenge appropriate for the individual pupils and their learning styles.
I am passionate about learning and want the tutees to get the most out of science. I like to create a comfortable environment so I can boost confidence and understanding. I spend time to find an approach that works for the students according to their individual needs and understanding. I am very patient and my lessons are relaxed and structured. I help the students to understand examination techniques to achieve the best possible results.
