Information About Susie - Sale tutor
This is how 3 referees rated Susie:
Susie offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and aim to help all my students become more confident in their abilities and reach their full potential. I find it hugely rewarding seeing tutees improve and gain grades they had believed were out of reach. Several A level students I tutored last year have just received excellent maths results and gained their first choice university places.
I am friendly, patient аnd аpprоаchаble and try to inspire students to love Maths, or at very least to hate it less! Over the last few years I have taught students from all the local grammars, AOM, Loreto, St Ambrose etc. so I am familiar with OCR, Edexcel, MEI and AQA exam boards.
I tutor at my home but I can travel to you if you live in Sale/Altrincham or nearby. There may be a small charge for travel if you are more than a 10 minute drive away, e.g. Lymm.
Currently nearly all my evening sessions in September 2018 are fully booked but I have good availability within school hours, ideal for A level students with free periods. Rates for 9am-3pm Mon-Fri are very good value (and I offer a further discount if you can travel to me or you want 90min/2hr sessions). I frequently provide transport for sixth form students to/from school or college, so it is always worth contacting me to see if we can arrange something to suit your circumstances.
I am happy to collect or drop off students so they can fit tutorials into free periods. Most schools are happy for sixth form students to leave school during free periods if it is for extra tuition. Occasionally sixth forms can even provide meeting rooms or similar space for tuition on site.
Since a successful student-tutor relationship is crucial, I offer an introductory session free of charge to find out what you want to achieve and ensure that you are happy with my approach. There is no obligation to book future sessions and no minimum number of sessions.
I studied Mаths, Further Mаths, Physics аnd Chemistry at A level, then went on to Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences (where I gained a double first).
I have worked as a research scientist but have concentrated on tutoring since having a family. I am very aware of the pressures of family life and happy to be flexible. I understand that sometimes sessions need to be cancelled or rescheduled and can usually rearrange given reasonable notice.
I have been a self-employed tutor for over 10 years now, having chosen to give up full-time work after my children were born.
I specialise in tutoring A-level maths (all exam boards, with expertise in pure maths, statistics and mechanics) but can teach maths from KS3 onwards. I аlsо tutоr Combined Science / Physics / Chemistry / Biology at GCSE.
I have volunteered in primary schools for many years and currently work part-time at my children's school, so can provide relevant DBS checks.
I work with each individual to find out exactly what they are looking for from extra tuition, whether that is to reinforce and consolidate topics they are struggling with at school, or concentrate on exam practice/past papers. I always stick closely to the syllabus being followed to make sure we cover the right material efficiently and effectively.
I can provide notes, resources, past papers and revision materials.
Tutoring is not lecturing - I like to develop a good rapport with my students so that they stay engaged and lessons are happy, relaxed and interactive.
