French and German Tutoring in Wellingborough

A native speaker of accent-free German ("Hochdeutsch"), I am a private tutor based in Northamptonshire, who has been helping adults and school pupils learn German, French and ESOL - for enjoyment, exam success and business. I have a PhD from the University of Bonn, Germany, in languages.
Full current DBS
In my free time, I am a semi-professional singer. I love Johann Sebastian Bach, Verdi and German folk songs and used to organise sing-along afternoons at German care homes.

Tutoring Approach

I deliver carefully planned sessions, which are tailor-made to students' demands. Besides the linguistic aspects, they learn about the country and culture. I am a patient, supportive and encouraging tutor, and my students have confirmed that they thoroughly enjoy my lessons.
I believe in "ringing the changes", because learning a language should be fun! My approach is interactive with lots of activities to improve the skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing. A typical session could cover:
Conversations about daily experiences and current affairs
Small talk - meeting and greeting
Expansion of vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions
Grammar, for example, typical mistakes
Job applications with feedback
Reading and pronunciation activities, for example newspaper articles
Students' own contributions with feedback
Anything you would especially like me to cover in the sessions
