Tutoring Experience

I am a lectuer in the Education department at a Unviersity in Cardiff.
I am an associate lecturer for the Open University, teaching on an access level Psychology module.
I held an hourly paid lecturer position (psychology) at the University of Portsmouth from 2008 to 2009.

I have experience of teaching academic skills (study skills) to students in Higher Education.
I also have experience of 1:1 tuition in study skills for students with dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach

I am able to tutor both 1:1 and online. I try to equip students with the skills they need for their studies. My main focus is to help foster autonomous learning. I follow a just in time approach to teaching, where timing is critical to learning, understanding, and retention. I try to make learning interesting, as this is more likely to motivate students to want to enhance their skills and ability.
