I am a lecturer in the Education department at a University in Cardiff. I have a PhD in Psychology and I am a qualified teacher for Higher Education. I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have designed several online learning modules for university students. I have carried out research in learning and teaching and used to work as a learning developer in a university, so I have an in depth understanding of how people learn.

I have experience of teaching academic skills (study skills) to students in Higher Education.
I also have experience of 1:1 tuition in study skills for students with dyslexia.
I am able to tutor both 1:1 and online. I try to equip students with the skills they need for their studies. My main focus is to help foster autonomous learning. I follow a just in time approach to teaching, where timing is critical to learning, understanding, and retention. I try to make learning interesting, as this is more likely to motivate students to want to enhance their skills and ability.
