Computer Studies / I.T.
I always wanted to be a teacher and have thoroughly enjoyed my career of 30 years. Building relationships with individuals and groups is a strength of which I am proud. I very much believe that learning should be enjoyable and, where appropriate, practical.
I am still extremely keen to pass on my knowledge to others.
30 years experience as a Secondary teacher in London and Sussex. For the last 18 years I have taught ICT and some aspects of Computing to all ages and examination levels. My most recent experience is with the Applied ICT A Level, GCSE in ICT, Cambridge National in ICT and Cambridge Technical L2 in IT.
I have an excellent working knowledge of a variety of software, specifically Microsoft Office where spreadsheets and databases are a particular strength. I have also taught Adobe Creative Suite, being confident in Photoshop, Fireworks, and Flash and competent in - InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
Other software that I have taught include; Matchware **E-mail Address Removed**WebDesigner, Windows Live Moviemaker, Scratch, Concept Draw MindMap, Flowol, Gantt Project etc
Please note that I do not consider myself a 'programmer'.
Tutoring should be enjoyable! I aim to ensure that my tutees are relaxed and confident with what they are doing. The sessions will be positive and productive, led by individual needs. I will make every effort to match tasks to individual learning styles and ensure that tutees are challenged appropriately.
